Featuring a diverse range of work by both twentieth-century and contemporary artists including Jeremy Moon, Blinky Palermo, Gerhard Richter, Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, Tomma Abts and Heimo Zobernig this book brings together art from the 1950s to the present. In particular, it focuses on abstraction's turn away from its expressionistic roots at the end of the 1950s and its move towards a more geometric, post-minimalist tradition, highlighting the resonances still felt by artists today.
